Abstract
Effect of sea atmospheric environment and industrial atmospheric on corrosion of metal Zn has been studied for the first time using Quartz Crystal Microbalance(QCM) combined with Infrared Transmissive Spectroscopy(IRTS). QCM results have shown that NaCl deposited on surface of zinc is the most corrosive electrolyte among selected electrolytes to atmospheric corrosion of zinc, (NH4)2SO4 deposited on the surface of zinc is the second, NaNO3 weak, and Na2CO3 the slightest. Combined with the IRTS analysis of the corrosion products, the corrosion mechanism of Zn under thin liquid film has elaborated.
